After the Fall

In a series of outstanding interviews, this study of the death and afterlife of the Berlin Wall reveals the extent to which the 'Fall' is unfinished business, which hurriedly reunited Germany ignores at its peril. Unsettling views of the former death strip - now a huge construction site - build an appropriate atmosphere of displacement around interviews documenting the continuing presence of the vanished Wall in people's lives: the pastor who attributes to it a sinister psychic force; the homeopaths who vaunt the healing power of ground-up Wall; the psychotherapist and the Berlin pensioner who declare that knocking down the Wall has not unified Germany for them.
