Blending CGI and live action, this “squeakquel” to the witless 2007 kids’ film proves just how dangerous such technology is when placed in the wrong hands. Our furry heroes enroll in high school and meet their (literal) matches in rival girl-rodent act the Chipettes. The animation is as impressively physical as the extreme sexualization of their female counterparts is disturbing; when their human buddy (Lee) is put in traction by one of many slapstick-violent gags, the moral is that self-absorption causes other people, so that the perpetrators laugh on the sidelines.
