Assuming apparently that no one has ever seen The Sixth Sense, Chad Feehan wraps his debut around Paul (Stewart) and Adrienne (Sigler), lovers who narrowly avoid a deadly car crash. They then arrive at the cryptic-creepy Roy's Motel, stared down by the strangely familiar-seeming guests. Worse, Paul is mortified to find a VHS tape in his room with footage of his darkest secret, he suspects that this is no ordinary roadside respite. (No shit, Sherlock.) Tiptoeing toward an obvious twist, this horror film stokes a solemn mood; it's just too tame to stir up anything resembling suspense.
