That pavement super-snog 'Le Baiser de l'Hôtel de Ville' must be the most familiar of Robert Doisneau's street shots. Azéma, star of Life and Nothing But and No/Smoking, chats to the 80-year-old photographer in various locations, including a rose garden - 'This is not who I am,' he objects - and outside the Renault car works. Topics include childhood memories, how to pose (the secret's in the feet), the suburbs. This is conventional, slightly skittish reportage, with the bonus that Doisneau (irascible, tender) and Azéma (puckish, steely) are such strong individuals that their relationship becomes an auxiliary subject of the film.
