Bowling for Columbine

Time Out says

In which Moore, in the aftermath of both the 1999 massacre at Columbine High School, and 11 Sept 2001, asks what it is that makes the US so prone to violent killings. While laying much of the blame on the country's self-defeating gun laws and pillorying the National Rifle Association in general and its mouthpiece Charlton Heston in particular, he acknowledges that there's more to the issue than that, and asks, for example, why other at least superficially similar countries, notably Canada, don't suffer/produce Columbine-style catastrophes. The free-wheeling argument gets lost here and there, and there's no denying either the self-aggrandising or the over-simplifying aspects of Moore's muck-raking methods. But overall his argument is pretty persuasive and, of course, often hilariously delivered.
