Time Out says
Rebecca Feig and her co-producer/camerman, Mitchell Rosenbaum, spent two years in Russia during the shooting of this empathetic documentary about the daily lives of a handful of Russian grandmothers. 'We are not women, we are horses.' The women, some in their eighties or nineties, are still working - simply to survive. In the cities they must scrape together the money for food, in the country they break their backs on scraps of land. War, revolution and toil have taken away most of their children. They are together, alone, with a combined stoicism and spirit which is humbling.
