Time Out says

2 out of 5 stars

Why are we so hopelessly addicted to our cell phones? In search of an answer to this pressing question, documentarian Tiffany Shlain bounces from one hot-button issue to the next: outsourcing, radiation, overconsumption, vanishing honeybees. They're all connected, see? She never figures out what, exactly, the deal is regarding our short attention spans, but her ADD-afflicted film definitely provides evidence that they exist. It's only when Shlain disconnects from her meta narrative and shares the story of her father's fight with brain cancer that Connected becomes more than an impersonal CliffsNotes Guide to Everything That's Wrong with Our Entire Civilization. As for being some sort of grand social statement, it...sorry, hold on, I just got a text.
