Time Out says

Too listless to hide its shortcomings behind rousing sports-flick flash and too earnest to work as adult drama, Crossover limps from one clich to the next in an attempt to achieve some kind of genre hybrid. The plot—med-school-bound streetball savant (Jonathan) clashes with hustling ex--sports agent (Brady) and his own secret past—is long on pandering uplift and shameless Sony self-promotion, but offers only a loose, funny bit performance by Little JJ and campy overemoting from Top Model Eva Pigford as diversions. Otherwise, this is late-summer movie doldrums exemplified. (Now playing; Click here for venues.)—Mark Holcomb
