On this evidence, Arab musical escapism is directly comparable with the Bombay variety, but it is to be hoped that the film industries of the Middle East can boast some writers and directors better capable of stringing images and characters together than those responsible for this pathetic comedy-thriller. The leading lady, as a gaudily dressed shepherdess stranded in tourist London, is required to register confusion and mime three songs; reputed to be a big star in her home market, she is not, by any European definition of the word, an actress.
