[title]
One of our dinosaurs is missing! In 1990, fossil-digger Pete Larson and his team discovered a T-rex skeleton (at the time, the most complete specimen ever) on Native American land in South Dakota. But as they were preparing their find for museum exhibition, the FBI seized the bones in a raid. This fascinating if occasionally heavy-handed documentary explores the extraordinary custody battle that followed. Using home-video footage and talking-head interviews, ‘Dinosaur 13’ dramatically depicts the thrill of archaeological discovery. But the overbearing soundtrack and shots of weeping palaeontologists do feel a touch manipulative.
