Racing the Baja 1000, a grueling off-road competition, is the ultimate test of
bullet-headed endurance. Then again, Dana Brown's interminable commercial on the
subject may run a close second. Dust to Glory expects you to discern
among its interchangeable speed freaks, aw-shucksing their way through
interviews and pit-stop consultations. But Brown's tendency to lionize them with
the purplest narration, especially after a young spectator is accidentally
killed ("The weatherman knows death is neither fair nor just"), is damn near
repellent. Er, how about putting up some safety barriers, ya jackasses?
