The primary image of this drama is that of the planes arriving at and departing from Athens airport. 'Yogurt' salesman Andreas, ever offering classical quotes gleaned from alcoholic customer, 'The Professor', knows the destination of every one, but is wise enough to know these are destinations he may never visit. Love-of-his -life Stella, on the other hand, is determined to become a singer even if it means hiking off to godforsaken night clubs in the back of beyond. Do these two have a future? Elegantly shot, atmospheric, on the whole, and clearly half in love with the sleazy night club milieu, this makes up for its occasional indulgence and melodramatic posturing, with a nice dramatisation of the two-way tussle of convention and adventure for the hearts of the new generation of young Greeks, both male and female. Songs are by Hadjidakis, Spanos and Kraounakis.
