Time Out says

Carmen Salgado (Garcia) is a tough girl, angry at the world, but with little reason: She has a strong support system, a budding romance and a passion for dance. Despite this, Carmen seems intent on being her own worst enemy, getting in fights and running away from home. Set against the backdrop of underground hip-hop clubs in Chicago, Go for It! brings nothing new to the coming-of-age dance film. Worse, director Carmen Marron seems as bored with the movie's protagonist as we are, taking breaks from her to spend time with various other characters---a supportive teacher, Carmen's best friend---in an unsuccessful attempt to give the film a genuine pulse.
