Time Out says

Set deep in the heart of Palin country and replete with biblical overtones, this Alaskan gothic melodrama tells of a bargain-basement faith healer (McKelheer) searching for meaning after his wife and child are brutally murdered. A young woman (Halverson) who enters his life will lead him to salvation, but their journey is marred by heavy-handed monologues that periodically bring the drama to a shuddering, stuttering halt. Earnest to a fault, this tale of vengeance and retribution strives for Faulknerian pathos, but never rises above amateur theatrics.—Andrew Grant
