Making Lifetime movies look like Masterpiece Theatre, Wendy Jo Carlton’s melodrama delivers stagey Sapphic bathos via the tale of a hospitalized woman (Gless) who pines to see her dying lifelong lover (Hagemann). Gray-haired Gless grouches with embarrassing abandon while chatting with the young ghost of her soulmate and befriending a mysterious girl (Jackson). Flashbacks to past relationship tensions and sexual escapades strive to mount an argument for LGBT equal rights, but given its wholesale clumsiness, this indie treacle merely reinforces the idea that filmmaking requires more than noble ambitions.
