Héctor

Gracia Querejeta’s fourth film is a stirring story about an adolescent country lad (Nilo Mur) who, following the mysterious death of his mother, is shuttled off to live with his aunt in a suburb of Madrid. Here he fights the demons of his sorrowful past, while forging a simmering relationship with his aunt (Adriana Ozores). When his long-lost father suddenly resurfaces, Héctor is forced to make a difficult decision. Despite a few predictable scenes, this is an otherwise touching family drama with exceptional performances by the two leads.
