Time Out says

One of those WWII movies you'd thought they couldn't possibly make any more, with stiff-upper-lip quota filled to bursting as our brave boys in blue embark on low-level bombing raids to destroy V3 and V4 development installations in Germany. It means well, and stages the action competently enough, but that doesn't weigh much against the balance of a preposterously contrived script. McCallum is the squadron leader who falls for Neve, wife of his best friend (Buck) after the latter is reported missing, presumed killed in action. Then news comes that Buck is alive and being held hostage in the very château the squadron has orders to destroy. Cue for moral decision-making of the Boy's Own Paper variety.
