Time Out says

In a vaguely rendered 1979 NYC, an uncommitted architect (Hutton) resolves to vent his inexplicable malaise by writing a play, typed out on the toilet. His nagging wife (Delaney), precocious daughter (India Ennenga), free-spirited best bud (Sorvino) and gay coworker (Mario Van Peebles) all support him, even if he’s only as clever as the dialogue he steals from his loved ones’ mouths. Cowriter Branch isn’t much of a dramatist either, as this hoary midlife-crisis tale is watchable solely for its reliable cast.—Aaron Hillis
