Always adorable, and coaxed into several absorbing improvisations, four-year-old Kelyna Lecomte gobbles the lens of this rural French drama, about a homeschooled girl, Nana, growing up on a pig farm. Chirping birds are a happy constant, even as the plot (such that it is) turns sour with our main character’s sudden parental abandonment. Little is explained as Nana’s solitary playtime continues, a function of habit, though we’re left to wonder what happened, darkly. Barely over an hour, the sketch feels lovely, unhurried and a bit insignificant. That may be your definition of cinema, but if you’ve hired a babysitter, this isn’t the film for your date night.
