Ninja Kids!!!

Fans of cult director Takashi Miike might not know quite what to make of ‘Ninja Kids!!!’, a lighthearted departure from his previous work. Renowned for explicit sex and violence in favourites such as ‘Audition’ and ‘Ichi the Killer’, here the director shamelessly embraces his silly side. Based on the 1993 Japanese anime series, ‘Nintama Rantar’, ‘Ninja Kids!!!’ tells the story of a boy from a low ranking family who is sent to Ninja Academy, where he and his friends face the task of saving their teacher from a group of rival ninjas. Quirky, playful and bursting with energy, this may not be for everyone, but is beautifully shot and undeniably entertaining.
