Pokémon 2: The Power of One
Time Out says
Surprisingly, this turns out to be marginally more coherent than the first movie. Of course, it's still fantasy codswallop for any parent forced to sit through it, but at least the story makes some sense. In a nutshell, spiky-haired young Pocket Monster-trainer Ash Ketchum is called on to save planet Earth from the hands of a power-crazed Pokémon collector who plans to unleash the combined forces of three of his latest acquisitions. What grates about these Pokémon movies is the appalling animation. This time around, the makers have at least put a little more depth into the visuals, even squeezing in some fairly impressive computer generated imagery. This minor improvement doesn't make the film any better, just a mite more bearable.
