Time Out says

3 out of 5 stars
Is it possible to comprehensively tackle in a scant 93 minutes the genesis of punk rock, the music’s sociocultural significance and who exactly thinks that Hot Topic is funny for turning rebellion into money? Susan Dynner’s ambitious, whirlwind tour through 30 years’ worth of screaming 1-2-3-4 would suggest the answer is no. But try to think of her flexible, free-form oral history as the chance to fill in musical gaps (ever heard of the Adicts?)—and watch some great bands wax about what punk has meant to them. Play this movie loud. Really loud.
