Time Out says

After the patriarch of the once seemingly perfect Wong family flees to a Buddhist monastery (following several failed suicide attempts), the suburban clan’s “dysfunctionality” is exposed: Eldest sister Samantha (Kim) would rather pine after her soulful-crooner ex than talk wedding plans with her yuppie fianc. Shy med student Julie (Kao) has a lesbian awakening when a comely celebrity shows up at the hospital to research a role. Youngest sis Katie (Lee) expresses her crush on the boy next door through a series of cat-and-mouse pranks. Marred by clichs, Georgia Lee’s earnest feature debut only flirts with the quirkiness for which it strives. (Opens Fri; Click here for venues.) — Erin Clements
