Sex Drive

Time Out says
American cinema’s fascination with the mating habits of overprivileged white kids continues – financed, of course, by said teens’ fascination with themselves. Little has changed since the heyday of John Hughes: nerdy hero on a mission to get laid, red sports car, bespectacled BFF– check, check, check. There’s not the faintest whiff of originality anywhere near ‘Sex Drive’: the lead actors are uninvolving at best and the entire enterprise feels cooked up to satisfy intoxicated teenagers.
Nonetheless, for the undemanding viewer this is a far more enjoyable experience than it has any right to be, thanks in large part to to a puerile but genuinely funny script, and scene-stealing turns from James Marsden as a frost-tipped homophobe and Seth Green as a sarcastic Amish mechanic.
