A glossy companion-piece to Clark's earlier essay on the same subject, Cruisin' - all chrome, custom-jobs and bubblegum rock - this focuses on British drag racers and street rodders, in another celebration of adopted US culture. Information for non-initiates is in short supply, restricted to the Santa Pod Raceway tannoy commentary and a few mechanics' rhubarbs, while the whole enterprise is cripplingly sabotaged by the intrusion of a cliché scripted encounter between two would-be James Deans. Very much the colour supplement movie, complete with compilation soundtrack album.
