Slaughter's Big Rip-Off

If nothing else, Gordon Douglas keeps the action moving in this sequel to Slaughter. Jim Brown's eponymous hero (the rest is equally subtle) tracks down the organisation that's after him for what he did to them in the earlier film. As he moves through the coke-sniffing city jungle, he encounters the usual police/syndicate tie-ups and the list in a safe that names names. Apart from some scenes and casting of total miscalculation, there are things to enjoy: a miserable hit-man who has missed his target is introduced to his own assassin at a poolside party; a man sniggers while trying to pick a safe and listen to the love-making couple in the next room. And for collectors of punko dialogue there are such gems as 'I should have known you ten years ago. We'd have ripped off the whole world in a week.'
