Election fraud is nothing new; voters have been illegally disenfranchised and otherwise manipulated since the days of Themistocles. Dorothy Fadiman argues, though, that the shoddy security of today’s ballot machines invites tampering on a heretofore unprecedented scale, and that unless we, the American public, don’t wake up and do something, Dubya could be the least of our troubles. Despite backing up the sobering message of foul play with largely circumstantial evidence, Stealing America does offer useful advice (vote on paper, fools!) for those worried about our creeping American tyranny.
