Suicide Killers

A dizzying assortment of international talking heads attempt to shed light on the psychology behind suicide bombing, in Pierre Rehov’s scattered documentary. Unfortunately, all his subjects do is reiterate the same rhetoric heard on CNN: Westerners complain about the repressiveness of Islam while wanna-be martyrs gush about heaven and the promise of 72 virgins. The most chilling moment comes when a failed bomber looks calmly into the camera and says, “Palestinians prefer martyrdom to living; Jews prefer to live than to die.” If that’s true, is there really anything more to discuss?
