Time Out says

Feckless loser Martin Luxford (Speer) emerges from prison in Liverpool with only a saxophone to his name (which he has now changed by deed poll to Martin Jean Baptiste Dechamps). His girl Joan (Stansfield) has wed the cop who nicked him (McCall), and his parents (Bell and Tushingham) barely give him the time of day. There's only one thing for it - with the wise words of his ex-cellmate and sax coach Jack (Bruce Springsteen's saxophonist Clarence Clemons) ringing in his ears, Martin assembles a swing band composed of a Man Utd wannabe, an ex-National Front roadie and a group of mercenary brass-playing Orangemen. An upbeat, nonchalantly mediocre Britcom which cheaply and cheerfully knocks off such successes as The Commitments and The Full Monty.
