Marred by amateurish line readings and a charmless, uninviting office worker for a protagonist (David Rhein), this life-after-rejection drama feels like a trial run for something more ambitious. Jamie, we learn from a wizened narrator (why in Spanish?), became obsessed with salsa dancing at a young age.
Extremely nearsighted, he grows into an awkward dater. Meanwhile, advice-spouting sister Lianne (glibly played by the director; the Rheins are siblings) does her best to push him toward confidence and the dance floor. Authentic NYC locales shot on jittery video supply more interest than the story does.
