Time Out says

A missing Louisiana teen (Grondin) reappears after four years; now sporting a French accent and an uncharacteristically docile personality, the AWOL kid is welcomed back by his dysfunctional family. But is this prodigal son actually an imposter? In this torpid Changeling-style true story, an FBI agent (Janssen) soon grows suspicious, leading to a mystery investigation characterized by a consistent scarcity of both drama and suspense. Nothing captivates, save for Ellen Barkin's astonishingly garish, uglified performance as the kid's giant-sunglassed, smack-injecting Mommy Creepiest.
