The Greening of Whitney Brown

Time Out says

Woe is poor little rich middle-schooler Whitney (Hanratty), forced to relocate from Philly to a ramshackle family farmhouse when dad (Quinn) goes bankrupt. Once this spoiled city girl starts to adapt to country living, she's suddenly transformed into a grounded kid, thanks to a friendship with her grandfather (Kristofferson) and an idiosyncratic horse. A coming-of-age tale with pratfalls, platitudes, bubblegum pop-rock and a perplexingly random cameo from former NFL coach Dick Vermeil, The Greening of Whitney Brown is content to be a typical piece of tween rural-versus-urban fluff from the old Hannah Montana: The Movie mold. Such lazy complacency is almost enough to make you see red.
