The Hottie and the Nottie
Time Out says
A stark yet comforting reminder that cold, hard cash is no substitute for cold, hard talent. ‘The Hottie and the Nottie’ is an execrable Z-grade eugenics parable moonlighting as a sexy, disposable date movie. It stars socialite and non-actor Paris Hilton as a supple, semi-clad college grad who won’t go the distance unless her scabby, buck-toothed friend (Christine Lakin) can also get a date. This is bad news for beanpole sex pest, Nate Cooper (Joel Moore) who spends his days toadying over a well-thumbed snap of a six-year-old Paris, taken when they were at school together.
Lowering the misogyny bar to a level that would have had Betty Friedan choking on her carrot cake, this two-bit wank fantasy plays body fascism for laughs with a script that mistakes egregious tomcat jock-talk for engaging dialogue. In the end, not only do you find yourself rallying against Nate, but hoping that he is publicly neutered then killed before the credits roll. So, so bad.
