Time Out says

3 out of 5 stars

Both a skid-row travelogue and a torrid romantic tale, Pietro Marcello's docu-fiction hybrid follows Vincenzo "Enzo" Motta, a stoic middle-aged ex-con tooling around Genoa, Italy. He's got a hair-trigger temper (one barroom encounter nearly turns nasty), though the running commentary provided by his lover---a heroin-addicted transsexual he met in prison---provides a tender counterpoint to Enzo's tough-guy image. The couple's extended interview together is so oddly touching that you wished Marcello had focused solely on them, instead of incorporating vintage cityscape footage and free-form wanderings through the northern town's waterfront district into the mix. Simply charting the geography of the heart would have sufficed.
