Time Out says

2 out of 5 stars

George Lucas created the Star Wars universe, but it's a generation of moviegoers who've turned the franchise into a religion---and they're very displeased with their bearded deity. Alexander O. Philippe's doc on the relationship between Lucas and those who love his films not wisely but too well works best as a portrait of fan pathology, with disciples treating the director's digital tinkering and piss-poor prequels as ridiculously personal affronts. (Memo to Most Irate Talking Head: Lucas ignoring theatrical cuts is not the same as being "a Holocaust denier." Just sayin'.) Once this cultural exploration devolves into just a forum for grating geek griping and Jar-Jar Binks hatred, however, you'll wish you could escape to a galaxy far, far away.
