Two fictional dramas have already been spun from the clandestine operations of
the "Red Orchestra," a spy group that did its best to undermine Hitler's Reich
from within Germany. Alas, documentarian and the son of the group's last
surviving member, Stefan Roloff, leans lightly on his exclusive interviews,
choosing instead to re-create wartime episodes on a shoestring budget. What
lingers after viewing Roloff's film is an airy moment of romantic resistance—a
shame when the filmmaker had the opportunity to present a potent one instead
