Quinn, a beat-up ex-sailor suffering from a terminal illness, conceives a plan to kidnap the President of an emergent African nation who has flown to South Africa, would you believe, to undergo medical tests. Quinn becomes fast friends with the President (Sabela), and finally redeems himself by stopping an assassin's bullet intended for the latter. Collinson screws up the pace of this singularly distasteful cut-price thriller in a vain attempt to disguise the script's efforts to ignore, trivialise, and misrepresent the realities of social and political life in South Africa.
