Tokyo Fist

Tsukamoto's follow-up to the Tetsuo diptych punches (and I do mean punches) into a new combat zone, beyond mere body horror. The director himself plays an insurance salesman whose life with his fiancée is turned upside down by an encounter with a former classmate, now a pro boxer with problems. A love triangle of the '90s: the 'new man' gets body conscious, the macho meathead gets nightmares, and the hip young woman flexes her options and gets her nipples pierced. Psycho-kinetic film-making in the patented Tsukamoto manner: bloody, convulsive, tender and blackly comic.
