Time Out says

3 out of 5 stars

If nothing else, the religious zealots who oppose abortion rights sure have a way with prefixes: One pastor featured in this rough-hewn doc on the “pro-life” movement barks through a bullhorn about “your pre-born neighbor.” Horribly organized and hampered by too many technical gaffes, Unborn in the USA still feels necessary. As its first intertitle reminds us, the Supreme Court’s decision in April to uphold the partial-birth-abortion ban was the first major victory for the pro-life movement in 35 years. That and the fact that even a wickedly smart comedy like Knocked Up refers to abortion as “the a-word.” (Opens Fri; Cinema Village.)—Melissa Anderson
