Nicely shot and decently performed, this ‘Short Cuts’-style account of a number of folk going their troubled way around a snowy Warsaw and occasionally crossing paths with one another is at once watchable and irritating, clever and a bit pointless. ‘What the fuck is going on?’ asks one character at one point, and one sympathises with the sentiment: the film’s low on coherence and credibility, so it’s hard to care very much about the paper-thin characters as they work their way through situations that are more suggestive of movies than real life.
