Time Out says

3 out of 5 stars

Set to be married in a few days, Ayanda (Msutwana) has her hands full, with a traditional mother who’s sabotaging her dreams for modern Cape Town nuptials, and an ex-boyfriend who’s alarmingly underfoot. Things couldn’t be worse for the bride-to-be...until her devoted fianc, Elvis (Nkosi), is waylaid en route from Johannesburg by pro-Apartheid thugs, a hitchhiker and (naturally) a goat. Despite its Tyler Perry--style premise, this classic et-’em-to-the-church-on-time caper draws on South Africa’s still-strong community values and the country’s saturated landscapes. It’s a winning farce, if one that’s far too broad.—Lisa Rosman
