Secret government scientists Courteney Cox and Chevy Chase coax disillusioned superhero Captain Zoom (Allen) out of retirement to train a new generation of mutant humans—but don’t tell him his evil brother, Concussion (Kevin Zegers), is en route to destroy mankind. B-list actors sleepwalk through this Sky High manqu, which scrambles to capitalize on the X-Men premise of troubled kids coming to terms with their outcast powers, but ends up a mess of pratfall-laden montage scenes set mostly to the nails-on-chalkboard music of Smash Mouth.
