Time to bust out your inner art and film critic in a top hat for Mumbai's favourite culture festival

Mumbaikars, it’s once again time to bust out your inner art and film critic in a top hat. Your favourite art festival – Kala Ghoda Arts Festival – is set to make its comeback. The beloved festival has announced its dates and a new theme for 2027.
As announced on its official Instagram page, Kala Ghoda Arts Festival (KGAF) will return on January 30, 2027, and run till February 7, 2027.
The news comes on the heels of an exciting phase for the locality, with the Kala Ghoda precinct recently getting a facelift that's improved pedestrian infrastructure and made the area more welcoming for visitors.
KGAF's theme for the upcoming edition is 'MultipliCity' – a clever play on words that reflects the many co-existing versions of Mumbai, with the tagline of 'Same streets. New energy'.
Inaugurated in 1999, the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival takes place in the Kala Ghoda precinct in South Mumbai, which comes alive with live music, theatre and dance performances, visual art exhibitions, panel discussions, film screenings, literature sessions, and children's workshops spread across multiple venues in the area, like Cross Maidan, Jehangir Art Gallery, CSMVS, Horniman Circle, and more. From students to corporate workers to artists and educators, the festival commemorates the diversity of the city of dreams.
The full nine-day programme hasn't been revealed yet, so stay tuned!
