Reaching Navi Mumbai Airport is about to get easier as the airport gears up for its winter schedule

Mumbai’s newest airport is getting a serious transport upgrade this winter. Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) is set to expand its multimodal ground connectivity with electric buses, autorickshaws, an hourly inter-airport shuttle, and car rentals – just as airlines begin their operations ahead of its winter schedule. Operated by Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), Navi Mumbai Airport braces for the Winter Schedule starting from October 25, 2026, and it will continue to run till March 27, 2027.
The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) will roll out its e-Shivai electric bus services from the Navi Mumbai Airport on Wednesday, October 7. Phase one will connect Borivali, Pune, and Dadar to the airport, with fares starting at ₹170. This plan comes ahead of Mumbai Airport Terminal 1 entering a phased redevelopment, with its demolition happening in January 2027. During the redevelopment, many flights will be redistributed to Terminal 2 and NMIA.
MSRTC is set to start its e-Shivai electric bus services from Navi Mumbai Airport on October 7, connecting Borivali, Dadar, and Pune to the airport with fares starting at ₹170. A ride to Dadar East will cost you ₹170, while Borivali will cost ₹210 and Pune ₹450.
The route to Dadar will operate through Sion and Atal Setu, while the Borivali route will connect Mumbai Airport Terminal 1, Atal Setu, and Bandra. Meanwhile, if you’re travelling to Pune, then there will be services twice a day, and Thane and Nashik routes are also planned to operate by mid-November. Additionally, children below the age of 12 years and women travelling with a National Common Mobility Card can pay half-fare for this service.
If your plan includes travelling within Mumbai, then Chalo Bus operates daily services between Navi Mumbai International Airport, Bandra, Dadar, Marol and the World Trade Centre in Colaba. Meanwhile, Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT) dedicates seven airport routes connecting to Terminal 1: Kharkoper, Targhar, Nerul, Panvel, Belapur, Khandeshwar and the Airport Project Office.
Beyond that, there is a complimentary inter-airport shuttle service for travelers, which will run every hour between Navi Mumbai Airport and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) (or Mumbai Airport) – operated by Cityflo, Aarya and Chalo – allowing passengers a direct link between the two airports in the city.
Beyond the shuttle services and e-Shiva electric buses, the rental cars are also getting a boost. Uber Go and Uber Premier will operate from the airport, and Uber Autos will provide its on-demand autorickshaw services for shorter-distance travel. Additionally, prepaid taxis and autos will be introduced as well. Similarly, Bharat Taxi will operate from Saturday, October 10.
There’s more happening on the Navi Mumbai Airport runway. FLY91 – a regional airline – began its operations from the airport on October 5 by launching direct flights to Agatti, Jalgaon, Goa and Sindhudurg. Its debut flight from Hyderabad received a water cannon salute at Navi Mumbai Airport. For the Winter Schedule, the airline plans to operate over 350 weekly flights across 14 destinations.
With more buses, cabs and airport shuttles hitting the roads of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, the Navi Mumbai International Airport seems to be clearly trying to ensure that reaching the new airport shouldn’t feel like the hardest part of catching your flight.
