The restaurant is making its South Mumbai debut, bringing its Tamilian fare with a preview dinner, featuring new creations like Birria Tacos and Beetroot Urundai.

After catering to the suburban Bandra and Versova outlets, Mumbai’s favourite Tamilian comfort-food fix – The Tanjore Tiffin Room – gets a new address. This time it's South Mumbai. The restaurant is bringing its home-style Tamilian cooking to Nerul Silk Mills in Lower Parel.
The restaurant announced its new opening on its official Instagram page along with Swiggy Scenes and Mumbai Foodie, mentioning a preview dinner scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2026. This will allow diners an early look at The Tanjore Tiffin Room’s Lower Parel outlet menu before it officially opens. This preview is an opportunity to try new Tamilian creations alongside some familiar TTR specialities. If you have been waiting for the brand to travel south, consider this your dinner bell.
The new outlet’s official opening date, operating hours and other details have not yet been announced. So, if you’re keen to be among the first to sample the new menu, keep an eye on the restaurant’s social media or check out Swiggy Scenes for further details.
The Tanjore Tiffin Room is popular for its take on home-style Tamilian food, drawing on recipes and flavours associated with the traditional Tamil household. The menu across existing outlets features regional preparations, curries, appams, biryanis, and tiffin-style plates – plus kaapi and cocktails.
The preview menu at The Tanjore Tiffin Room in Lower Parel teases a few dishes that should spark conversation around the table: Mutton Birria Tacos and Palioalayam Chicken will bring a playful spin to the restaurant’s Tamilian-led offering, while Beetroot Urundai offers a vegetarian bite. Sinduja’s Dindigul Biryani with Salna and Thanjavur Banana Cutlet are other dishes named in the announcement. Tanjore Tiffin Room has also hinted at more creations, although a complete menu for the Lower Parel outlet has not yet been shared.
Since opening its first outlet in 2017, The Tanjore Tiffin Room has grown across Mumbai with three outlets: Bandra, Versova and Nesco in Goregaon – plus outlets in Goa and Pune. The Lower Parel marks the restaurant’s fourth outlet in Mumbai and sixth in India. Expect the new address to bring TTR’s broad culinary identity to Lower Parel, with the preview offering the first clues to what’s in store.
