The best Airbnbs in Mumbai

This list's curated for travellers, not tourists

Mumbai can be a lot. It’s loud, busy, and always on the move – and a lot of what you see depends on where you’re staying. This isn’t totally unsurprising for a city that began as an archipelago of seven islands and was later stitched into a single, sprawling metropolis, and each neighbourhood has something totally different to offer – whether it’s food, sea views, or things to do.

That’s where Airbnbs tend to do more heavy lifting than hotels, especially when the idea is to soak up the best of what each area offers. Hotels do a great job of comfort and luxury, and hey, Mumbai even has a bunch of really cool boutique hotels, but when you’re looking for character, homestays have the winning edge. There are old South Mumbai apartments with high ceilings, Bandra homes hidden inside quiet lanes, plus modern high-rises that give you a break from the hustle of the street.

We’ve rounded up some of the best Airbnbs in the city, and we’re confident there’s something for everyone: central, well-connected places, sea-adjacent stays, Art Deco luxe. You take your pick.
