It's the fourth day of May. You know what that means don't you? That's right, Star Wars day. The intergalactic equivalent of Mean Girls' October 3rd. "May the Fourth be with you," you can say to your postman, and you will share a laugh. If you are stuck on things to do for the evening, at your house on this bit of a boring old Tuesday, why not just do a Star Wars evening? Given we've collated all the things you'll need for one, it'll be easy and fun.

1. Watch 'Star Wars: The Bad Batch'

Arriving on Disney+ today, 'Star Wars: The Bad Batch' is an original series, acting as a sequel and spin-off to the animated series 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars'. It's canon, so assuming you've caught up on all the other canon releases and want something new to stream, this will be your best bet. There's going to be 16 episodes in total, with the premiere being available today. You can also play 'Star Wars: The Bad Batch' bingo at the same time.

2. Play one of the many, many, Star Wars based video games

If you still have a PS2 with 'Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy', then I'm very jealous. If you don't, fortunately there's a huge number of deals on Star Wars video games this week, in celebration of today. Grab one of them and sit down on the couch, you deserve it.

3. Make (and eat) Star Wars themed food

The official Star Wars website has a recipe section. That's right. You could have the usual Tuesday night meal, or you could say "Force It! Let's have a Princess Leia Rice Bowl", and why not also make Boba Fett Banana Bread Muffins for dessert while you're there. Or have some Ewok sushi, a guaranteed winner. Star Wars themed food – the perfect accompaniment to whatever Star Wars activities you undertake this May 4th.

4. You could just watch one of the films, couldn't you

This is a bit obvious, but it's also true. They exist, they're there to be watched. Whether it's your favourite, your least favourite, one you haven't seen. Go wild. Watch them all! Films – the Star Wars bit that started everything.

5. Hop on a video call and debate why Jabba The Hutt (or some other character of choice) is the best Star Wars character until you have no friends left

You can use our list of the 52 best Star Wars characters as a launchpad. You could do this with your housemates or co-habitants too, but you actually have to see them most days so it is less advised.

Now, what if despite reading all the way down to here, you don't want to watch Star Wars today? Or your cohabitant doesn't like Star Wars? The Simpsons. That's what. Everybody loves The Simpsons and 'Maggie Simpson in “The Force Awakens From Its Nap”' is also out on Disney+ today. It's a short film from Disney about Maggie going to a Star Wars themed nursery, and the mission she has to go on upon having had her pacifier taken from her (classic).
