With the lack of participation, Wikipedia content is skewed and notable women in art and history are largely underrepresented. Based on interest from students and others in our community, CFAM is following the lead of museums such as The Walker Art Center and The Museum of Modern Art for an afternoon of communal Wikipedia editing related to contemporary art and feminism. The event is being led by artist and Rollins College graduate Leah Sandler and CFAM curator Amy Galpin. Female editors are particularly encouraged to attend, but editors of all genders, ages, and abilities are welcome!
We hope you can join us! Bring your laptop and ideas for entries to create or improve. No Wikipedia editing experience necessary: we will provide tutorials for the beginner Wikipedian, research assistance, reference materials, free Wi-Fi-and delicious refreshments!
You can prep yourself by checking out this Wikipedia editing tutorial: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Training/For_students
No laptop? We will have a limited number of computers available. No ideas? We will provide a suggested list of artists and topics!
RSVP here and please share this event with your peers! Also share details on this event using #artandfeminism.
