Downtown Credo is a not-for-profit business that devotes itself to community projects in Orlando and sources coffee strictly from two cooperatives in Central America. The donation-based model allows this passionate group of individuals to not only enrich our community in Orange County, but also to work with the same producers in Guatemala and Nicaragua year-in, year out. Regardless of adversity facing their partner farmers - be it erratic environmental problems at origin or market pressure from global trading swings - Credo stays loyal to their producers while aiding in expansion and quality control. Operating for several years at a friendly and inviting space in College Park, Downtown Credo recently added a gorgeous second location at Florida Hospital SunRail stop, where we will launch our tour. http://downtowncredo.com/ Lineage Coffee Roasting is obsessed with quality and Roaster Jarrett Johnson’s craftsmanship shines through in each cup. With the unfailing help of the skilled Lineage staff these java mavens bring consumers the story of each single-origin coffee. Lineage seeks out producers that want to improve quality every year, thus gaining a higher price for their product. They are fresh back from a sourcing trip to Colombia where they purchased a microlot from Maria Victoria Alvarez Restrepo, a quality producer for the region of Antioquia. By doing so, they are building the foundation for what is known as Relationship Coffee - one of the most traceable and sustainable buying routes in specialty coffee. Lineage just expanded to espresso service at their beautiful space in East End Market. http://www.lineageroasting.com/ Helmed by Ross Smith, Blacksmith Brew Works is another in the school of small-batch quality roasters. An Orlando native he and his better half, Brittany Smith, just moved back to Orlando from Houston to start a family. He sets up his hand-crafted mobile brew stand around town at events and pop-up locales, such as Fresh! The Wednesday Night Market hosted by Thornton Park District. Blacksmith sources from fantastic green coffee importers such as CoffeeShrub and Cafe Imports, both of which serve as stewards of quality appreciation often paying producers more than double Fair Trade prices. Here, we will enjoy their delicious & creamy cold brew on nitro. http://www.blacksmith.coffee/
