Time Out says

Head to the verdant forests of northern Kyoto for a one-night-only immersive outdoor performance at one of the ancient city’s most iconic religious sites. Being held at night on the grounds of Kifune Shrine, Ambient in Nature™ features performances of traditional Japanese instruments alongside guitar and beatboxing, making for a unique nature-driven improvisation session.

Seven participating artists have been announced so far, including shakuhachi musician Shozan Hasegawa, koto musician Aya Yamauchisho flute player Tokiko Ihara, shamisen and kokyu player Hidetaro Okamura, beatboxer Show-Go, guitarist Yukihirio Atsumi and PA/Dub artist KND.

Along with the performances, which seek to change people’s perceptions of nature for conservation and to appreciate the spiritual connection between humans and nature, expect food stalls serving dishes and drinks from local restaurants and cafés. Tickets with early bird discounts can be purchased now for a limited time via the crowdfunding site Campfire, with tickets starting from ¥9,500 for the standing area. After the early-bird period ends, tickets can be purchased on Peatix, priced from ¥5,000 for individuals aged 29 and under, and ¥10,000 for all ages. Part of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Kifuneyama Regeneration Fund to support the protection of the forests surrounding the shrine.

While details are yet to be finalised, a shuttle bus from Kurama Station is to be arranged for easy access to the venue.
